To Whom Should I Talk About The Zeitgeist Movement And The Venus Project?

The answer is: EVERYONE.

But unfortunately, there are many people out there with no intention to change. They are not open to new ideas or solutions to solve the problems of our society today. These people are still daydreaming (“zombies”, as Mike Ruppert use to call them), unable to see the recession all over the world, the high numbers of unemployed people, unable to see millions of people dying every day through starvation, preventable diseases, wars… (as it is very convenient just “change the channel” and ignore reality)

We will point 3 different groups to you, along with some useful tips on how to approach each group in order to talk about Zeitgeist and The Venus Project in an easy and simple way.

Remember that we are just presenting information to people- nothing else - we are not here to “convince” anyone about anything - again, we are just here to present information to people (through word of mouth, our medias, etc) - and it comes down to one thing: that we all have the same basic needs from birth to grave - stick with this principle and it will be easier to approach anyone, anytime (it doesn't matter what what's the person's background).

Before start it, check this list with some people that must be very interested and open to see what the Zeitgeist Movement is about and how the Venus Project can help all of us:

- Your family and friends – just by talking to them it mustn’t be hard to show the movies;
- Unemployed ones – these ones are really open to new solutions;
- Employed ones – are you employed? It doesn’t mean the job you have is the job you love – some people truly hate their jobs (and are open to changes);
- Don’t push the DVD on people that are not interested in it. They will probably trash it or leave it on the shelve to watch it “latter on” (never). Remember: people will wake up soon or latter. As time goes on, the unemployment will continue to raise and just this factor will force people to open their eyes for what is really going on.

Let’s start with the most critical point – JOB LOST and consequently HOUSE FORECLOSURE:

Let’s start by recalling the main goals pointed out in Zeitgeist Addendum. Some of these topics are based on US numbers/institution’s names. We are working to bring to you some UK/Australian (and other countries) numbers/institution’s names instead of US ones, help us to do it by giving your thoughts about it.

1 - Expose The Banking Fraud

Boycott Citibank, JP Morgan Chase and Bank of America are the most powerful controllers within the corrupt Federal Reserve system. It's time to boycott these institutions:

If you have a bank account or credit card with any of them, move your money to another bank.

If you have a mortgage, refinance with another bank.

If you own their stock, sell it.

If you work for them, quit.

This gesture will express contempt for the true powers behind the private banking cartel known as the Federal Reserve. And create awareness about the fraud of the banking system itself.

2 - Boycott the News Network

Stop watching TV. Visit the emerging independent news agencies on the internet for your information – CNN, NBC,ABC, FOX, BBC and all the others present all news pre-filtered to maintain the Status Quo. With four corporations owning all major media outlets, objective information is impossible. This is the true beauty of the internet. The establishment has been losing control because of this free flow of information. We must protect the internet at all times as it is truly our savior right now.

3 - Boycott The Military

Don't ever allow yourself, your family or anyone you know, to ever join the military.

This is an obsolete institution now used exclusively for maintaining an establishment that is no longer relevant. US/UK soldiers in Iraq work for US/UK corporations, not the people. Propaganda forces us to believe that war is natural and the military is an honorable institution.

Well if war is natural, why are there 18 suicides every single day by American veterans who have post-traumatic stress disorder? If our military men and women are so honored, why is it that 25% of the American homeless population are veterans?

4- Boycott The Energy Companies

Stop supporting the energy companies.

If you live in a detached house, get off the grid. Investigate every means of making your home self-sustainable with clean energy. (HERE you can find some tips)

Solar, wind and other renewable energies are now affordable consumer realities, and considering the never ending rising costs of traditional energies, it will likely be a cheaper investment over time. If you drive, get the smallest car you can and consider using one of the many conversion technologies that can enable your car to be a hybrid, electric or run on anything other than establishment fuels.

5 - Reject The Political System

The illusion of democracy is an insult to our intelligence.

In a monetary system, there is no such thing as a true democracy, and there never was.

We have two political parties owned by the same set of corporate lobbyists. They are placed in their positions by the corporations, with popularity artificially projected by their media. In a system of inherent corruption the change of personnel every couple of years has very little relevance. Instead of pretending that the political game has any true meaning focus your energy on how to transcend this failed system.

(In the UK we have largely a two-party system, with the privileged elite on one hand and the privileged elite on the other hand. There is no grass roots representation in the UK government, there is simply an elite in Westminster who work part-time as politicians but keep many other jobs in industry, accepting lobbying from rich, moneyed interests. There is no representative UK government, you vote one lot out, and the others come in. The system stays the same. It will never change itself, and it will resist every effort to change it with the resources of a government. - Steve Coe)

Funding your Projects

Here is a simple and straightforward method to fund your project(s).

First – I will consider you have already subscribed on the main Zeitgeist Website (the US one), or on your local Zeitgeist Website (your local Chapter).

Second – I will consider you have a project (whether it is fully developed or not).

To put things very simple, follow this example:

Let’s say you have a project, that is, to create a leaflet about the Zeitgeist Movement. This project aims to inform unemployed people about a feasible solution for their “current” (permanent) problem. Your goal is to produce 1,000 A5 Leaflets – this will cost you $30,00.

Here you will need, basically, two things:

1. People to help you to develop this project and;

2. Funds.

1 – You can start by setting a post on the forum and talking about your project. It is important to mention that you already made a research on how much this project will cost and that you are looking for people to share the costs, as you (I believe) can’t afford it. Write down the website’s shop where you want to have your prints done and mention that you accept suggestions concern a place that can give you a better price than the one you have posted. It’s very important to keep total transparency and show people that there is no personal gain involved in your project. You may even count with the aid of friends or family to create this leaflet and this will cost you nothing, just good will.

Once the Project is accomplished, you go for the second part: Funds.

2- Funds - Here you may already have all funds you needed to print your leaflets, as the people involved in your project may have contributed. It is important to mention that, as you may have realized, this is not “one person” Movement. The Zeitgeist Movement counts with over 390,000 members (Abril, 2010) and it is growing fast. If you still didn’t raise all the funds you need to have your prints done, so I strongly suggest you to contact your local Zeitgeist Chapter. Present your idea and get some help from them (what won’t be hard as we all are on the same side fighting for the same cause).

Another two important points to consider:

1 – If you just raised $15,00 instead of $30,00, so, consider to print 500 leaflets instead of 1000.

2- If your project requires more funds, you can appeal not just to your local Chapter but for all Chapters. Always keeping in mind the total transparency of your project. In this case, you may even use gadgets as The ChipIn Widget, PayPal Donation Gauge, etc. So all people know how much your project will cost and know how much you still need to fund it.

The ChipIn widget is a simple Flash application that allows you to keep people up-to-date on ChipIn events you organize to collect money.

The widget works with any Web page and many popular social media Web sites such as: MySpace, Facebook, WordPress, Blogger,TagWorld, etc.

What's the Donation Gauge?
It is a gadget that will measure and show how many donations have been received.

Example #2: this is Facebook Donation System – In this example (Future by Design: The Venus Project) you can see how much was raised, who were the donators and how much each one donated. On the Tab “Impact”, you can even see a graphic showing more details about the donations made (like, the day that the donation has been made, etc).

Last but now least, ask you local chapter to create a link called “Projects to Spread Awareness” or “Projects to be funded” (or anything regarded this subject). The idea of this link is to host all projects that have already been funded and promoted (what can be done over and over again) and projects that have been developed but still need funds to be started.

If you don’t have a project, why would you ask for funds? (we all know the answer)

NEVER ask for random donations. We don’t want to be confused with those “honest” Humanitarian Organizations and have our name printed on books like “The Lords of Poverty: The Power, Prestige, and Corruption of the International Aid Business” or even be compared with “The Fraudulent UNICEF” (according William F. Jasper)

We believe that this simple and straightforward method to fund your project(s) will help you to spread awareness without over struggles.

Joining Forces

-DO NOT PRINT THE LETTER WITHOUT COMPLETING THE BLANK SPACES FIRST-

Goal:

“Joining Forces Project” is a very specific Letter to a very specific goal, that is: to reach Relief and Humanitarian Organizations (or Institutions), Volunteer Centers, Green Movements, Charitable Organizations, etc, and let them know about the Zeitgeist Movement and hence the Venus Project. Once the approach is made, we will try to join forces with these organizations and start working in mutual cooperation to achieve our common goals.

So far, we have been approaching organizations through e-mails. E-mails are great, they are very easy to be sent but they also are very easy to be ignored.

Now we need a Bolder Approach and that is what this Project is about.

In most cities we can find Volunteer Centers and organizations like Greenpeace, CARE, Oxfam, Amnesty, Save the Children, The British Heart Foundation, Save the Animals, etc. Again, e-mails are great but we all agree that we just can’t rely completely on them.

The idea (AFTER COMPLETING THE BLANK SPACES ON THE LETTER) is to print it and hand it, in an envelope, along with 5 Zeitgeist Addendum DVDs and 5 Orientation Guide DVDs, to organizations as the ones mentioned above.

IMPORTANT: the goal is to have the DVDs watched by ALL EMPLOYEES of these Organizations. We rather have the big base of the pyramid aware of the solutions (most employees) than a few managers on the top of the pyramid that may think the information presented on the DVDs may threat their BUSINESS…I mean, their Humanitarian Organization.

Here is the Step by Step Guide:

1. Download the letter HERE;

2. COMPLETE THE BLANK SPACES ON THE LETTER:

2.1. Set your city and today’s date (AND ERASE THE RED WRITING);

2.2. Check what Organizations you have around your Neighborhood/City and set the name of the Organization (AND ERASE THE RED WRITING).HERE you can find a list of Organizations;

2.3. Erase the current name and set your own name if you want to be a representant (AND ERASE THE RED WRITING).

2.4. Set the actual member’s number (AND ERASE THE RED WRITING) – you can find out what is the total number of members by visiting the Main Zeitgeist Website -http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com

3. Download our Envelope Logo HERE – Glue it on the envelope you will hand to the Organization;

4. Download our Joining Forces DVD Covers HERE;

5. Download and Burn 5 Zeitgeist Addendum DVDs and 5 Orientation Guide DVDs (or more if you want). HERE you can find ALL you need to perform this task;

6. Download and print some Flyers/Posters to leave on the front desk of the Organization you are visiting and some other ones inside the envelop to each employee to take home along with the DVDs. We strongly suggest you our Poster/Flyer #1 as it is makes the reader think: “what is a RBE about?” (if people ask you about it, just tell them to watch the movies - you better not even try to explain it – what is a classical newbie mistake);

7. Get some plastic sleeves.

8. Clip together each DVD with a Flyer (Flyer first and DVD behind it). Clip it in the top left corner as showed on the picture below.

That was easy and simple – By now you must have one envelope containing all the items mentioned above.

HOW DO I APPROCH THESE ORGANIZATIONS???

This is very simple.

First of all, let’s mention what you are NOT going to do before/after/while/when you hand this letter:

· You are NOT there to talk to the Manager;

· You are NOT there to give a lecture about the Zeitgeist Movement or the Venus Project;

All you have to do is: “to hand the envelope”.

An example to make things very clear:

Let’s say you have 5 different places to hand these letters. The first place to go will be The British Heart Foundation. Let me say that most of these places are like shops open to the public (if you never happen to step inside one before). They accept donations (like an old TV you don’t use anymore), and they sell it there (just don’t ask where this money goes to).

Before that, you may introduce yourself to not look like a weirdo (it is important to mention that you don’t necessarily have to say the word “Zeitgeist” at all).

Just say:

“Hi there, I work as volunteer to a Social Movement and I have a letter to “all employees of the British Heart Foundation”(in this mean time you should be flipping through the letters to find the one to the British Heart Foundation).”

“Here it is.” (just hand it)

If they ask what it is about, you say: “Our movement shares the same goals your organization promotes. We want to share some important information with you and thus work in mutual cooperation with your Organization (or mention the name of the Organization instead)”.

Mention: “There is some informative material inside the envelope, that is: a letter from our movement, 5 sets of DVDs and some flyers”.If you spot more than 5 employees around the shop you say: “ I see you have more than 5 employees working here today, I can provide some extra material for them too. Can I leave these DVDs and Flyers/Posters with you?” (so you hand as many DVDs/Flyers/Posters as needed). Ask if you can leave some flyers over the main desk or at their notice board also.

If you are a Joining Forces Representant, you can say you will be back to talk more about it. If you are not a Representant, just say: “there is an e-mail contact on the letter, thank you! Have a nice day!”…and leave the place.

It is that simple!!!

There is no “I want talk to the manager”, no “I want to introduce the Venus Project to you” and there is no “I am sorry, I can’t answer this question because I actually don’t know the answer” (what is classical for a fever newbie that want to help but don’t know how and, in the end, talk more than he/she should).

BUT I AM SHY

There is always a different approach to all kinds of members and the shy ones are not excluded.

If you really shy and can’t imagine yourself stepping inside an Organization to hand this letter, so, here are two tips that will help you:

1. Just mail it though regular Post. Get the address of the organization you want to mail and send it through regular mail. You don’t have to write your address on the envelope (in case you don’t know). Just set the envelope as explained above and send it through regular mail;

2. Get over your shyness and READ or LISTEN to this material.

-Basic Approach-

Group A goes for your true close friends, coworkers, classmates, family, relatives, etc.

Stick on this group, as you know them it may be easy for you to do so.

How to talk about Zeitgeist to Group A?

For these group all you have to say is:

“Hey pal, visit this link and watch this video tonight (give the link to your friend). It will blow your mind. We talk about it tomorrow.”

or…

“Hey dude, watch this video tonight (give a DVD to your friend). It will blow your mind. We talk about it tomorrow.”

People from Group A don’t question, don’t complain and don’t bark at you. They just say: “Thanks a lot, I will watch it tonight.”

Ask for a feedback on the next day. Share information and thoughts. Keep spreading awareness.

It is that simple.

Group-B

Group B

-Intermediate Approach-

Group B goes for your not so close friends, coworkers, classmates, family, relatives, etc – OK, on this group you need to approach in a slightly different way from Group A. As they may think how usual it would be if you treat them as the people on Group A. But, in the end, you will see that it is very easy to approach this group.

How to talk about Zeitgeist to Group B?

Let’s be honest, most people are not open to directly talk about religion, politics, economic, technology and so on.

On religion talk, people will probably think you are part of a new brainwash religion trying to recruit new sheeps.
On politics/economy talk, people will probably run away from you, as these subjects are seen as boring and tedious ones.
Don’t even try to talk about any subject related to conspiracy theory as people will probably think you are a terrorist.

So, how do I do?

Here are some tips:

- In the USA we have over 15 million people unemployed (2009 numbers) – Visit this link to know more about Unemployment Today. (also, keep track of the unemployment in the USA here)

- In the UK we have over 2,5 million people unemployed (keep track of the unemployment in the UK here and here)

- We are going through the worst recession since the World War 2 (keep track of this topic here)

- Did you realize the government bailout just big corporations/banks? What about all those small business in you city closing up? Did the government give any support to those business? What about people losing their houses? Is the government giving any help for homeowners? NO, NO, NO (keep track of this topic here)

- If you lose your job and can’t afford to pay your mortgage anymore. The bank take you house without thinking twice about it. Today the number of homeless are increasing on daily basis. To get a job today you will be asked an address (no address no job). You may try to rent a little flat or even a room but you can’t because you have no income and it is very likely that no one will rent even a room for someone without income. (keep track of this topic here)

- "G20 solved the problem – We got 1 trillion dollars now"(2009). That is the biggest joke ever. I won’t even bother to explain this swindle. We know exactly what is happening here: “the more money there is, the more debt there is”. If anyone say the opposite to you, give them Zeitgeist Addendum to watch.

By now you must have got the gist here. Forget talk directly about religion, politics, economic, conspiracy theories, etc. Talk about what is going on today using simple language (this is still about politics and economy but viewed from a simple angle, not a complicated one as the tube shows). Even naïve people can see by watching the deceive tube that things are at least odd . The TV, newspapers, radio, etc, just can’t hide the increasing numbers of the unstoppable bankruptcy our world is driving into.

In the mean time, as the chat goes on, you will have many chances to talk and about that video you saw another day on the internet (if you say “documentary” some people may step back as they just like to watch videos, movies and “stuff” on the internet…but not documentaries). Through the conversation, you must get something from the person like: “yeah, I have some friends that lost their jobs.” or “I know what you mean, there are many shops around going bust lately.” Mention you got so excited about the whole “stuff” you saw in the internet that you decided to download it and burn some DVDs to give to some friends to watch it too…”Would you like a copy?”

It is that easy.

You not just spread awareness but you still strength your friendship ;)

After that, keep track of the situation – Just make sure the person you gave the link/DVD didn’t forget to watch the video (send an email, call him/her, etc). After a week you will find out if your friend was really worried about how to end with the chaotic situation we are living today or that was just hot air/trash talking from him/her.

Group C

-Advanced Approach-

Group C goes people you probably don’t know. This Group is divided in several subgroups. Nevertheless, they are as important as Group A an Group B. As we all know, our society is composed by a series of institutions and we have to approach each one of them. We will point some of them here along with “how” to approach each one of them either.

How to talk about Zeitgeist/TVP to Group C?

(NOTHING that you are going to read here is set in stone. Just remember to use good sense)

How to dress: Unfortunately, people judge too much (the way to walk, the way you talk, the way you dress, your hair style, your shape, etc). They say if you want to be taking serious, you should be dressed serious.

Every shop/business you go, you ask to talk to the owner/manager/responsible.

Present yourself: Who are you? You surely are a member of the Zeitgeist Movement but are you linked to the Greenpeace? Save the Children? Save the earth? UNICEF? Maybe your course in the university is “Social Work Course”. Does it matter if your goal is just one? NO.

But to a representant of “something” is always better than play the role of “Mr. Nobody”. Yes, we live in a “Badge World”. To say: “I am a representant/member of the a Social Movement/Zeitgeist Movement in this City” sounds just fine…but you may find yourself more comfortable using another sentence. It is up to you.

Give some actuall numbers: Make a little research about all those shops/business that went bust in your city due the recession – Mention some Names to give credibility to your research – Show some numbers of how fast that is happening and for how long that may remain ongoing (they are talking it will take some years to recover from this recession and business will keep going bust all the way long).

Follow the chat in these lines (or the way you believe is more appropriated):

“We are really concerned about losing more business in our city. We just can’t allow that happen any longer. We have decided to distribute this DVDs to as many business as we can in our city. This DVD shows a video divided in different subjects and, among them, it clearly says how this recession started and how to put an end to it. The more business/people aware about it the better are the chances our country/your business doesn’t go bust. Are you interested? We can provide copies for some employees too, as they should be aware too about it.”

Set a time for them to watch it like that:

“We work as volunteers, and different from other organizations, we don’t ask for any money/funds (we are aware that money corrupts). All we want is to make our community and hence our country to go through this recession by spreading awareness of how to definitely end with it. We have a limited number of DVDs we are distributing. What we are doing is giving this DVD to local business and collecting them back after x days (no more than a week) so everyone has the opportunity to watch it. Is that ok to come back here to collect it in x days? You are allowed to copy it and distribute if you want for your family, friends or costumers. If you don’t know how to make a copy, we can give you support on how to do that.”

Business owner want to contribute – he offers you money

You very likely will meet people that want to contribute by giving money. That sounds just great but let’s not be fools here. All we need are Blank DVDs, Plastic Sleeves, Printing Service, banners, stamps, etc. Our goal is to promote the movement through goods or services…not money. So if someone from a Computer Supply offer you cash to contribute, just ask for DVDs – If someone from a Printing shop want to contribute, ask if you can print DVD covers, etc….and so on. Refuse accept money and doing so people will truly realize the credibility of the Zeitgeist Movement.

Final notes:

Take the name and address of the place you have visited along with the person responsible you’ve talked to. Keep track of your visits and feedbacks. All these information can be posted on your Local Chapter. So local members will have access to it and they will be aware about the number of places that has been visited (shop/city/province/country) along with the feedbacks about the visits.

Opposition to the Venus Project???

Some very blind and brainwashed people will not approve any solution to our current situation. Don’t be afraid of them but the opposite. Listen to them and by the end of the conversation say the person has raised interesting points of view and those points of view would surely contribute to an improvement of the Venus Project. You have watched the Zeitgeist movies, the Activist Guide, the Z-Day New York, etc. You may be able to answer many questions by now. Use them to clarify people’s questions and skeptical doubts. In the very end, remember: The Venus project is not Perfect but it is much better system than the one we have today.

Zeitgeist Bank Notes

Time to have some fun and do just as the governments/banks do, let’s:

PRINT SOME MONEY

Government Line of Action: print money, out of thin air, backed by nothing, devaluating the currency, causing more inflation and, finally, dumping it into the economy.

Zeitgeister Line of Action: print some money, backed by a powerful message that will increase public awareness, causing a Revolution of Minds and finally, having a Cultural Shift to an Emergent Society instead of the Established one we have today.

The idea is very simple: you download and print a “Zeitgeist Bank Note” (ZBN) from your country and do something similar to what you will see in this video.

“REMEMBER TO DROP THE ZBN FACING UPWARD”

If you are able to record the moment (with a regular camera or even the camera from your cell phone) when people pick up the note, you can create a video and just post it on YouTube. You can also send us your video and we can post it.

Furthermore, you can “drop” some ZBN on different places

– Drop some ZBN near work Agencies, like Job Centers, Job Fairs, etc.

“REMEMBER TO DROP THE ZBN FACING UPWARD”

-Pass on some ZBN to street musicians, street performers, etc . Drop the ZBN, facing upward, inside the person’s bucket or instrument case.

- Fundraisers are everywhere with buckets collecting funds to their causes. Here is a good chance to pass a ZBN on. Of course you won’t say that you are passing a ZBN. Just drop the ZBN inside the bucket and say: “Have a good day :)”

Telephone Booths are another great way to “distribute” ZBNs. Just leave ONE ZBN inside each boot, even on the floor, it doesn’t matter.

- Finally, use your imagination to pass a ZBN on. There are endless situations where you can drop a ZBN somewhere. Remember, most people know that something is wrong and the system is falling apart, but they don’t know its root couses. People also don’t know what to do or where to go and a ZBN can show them a light at the end of the tunnel.
